We use Miron Glass to preserve the quality and potency of the bio-correcting ingredients found throughout the Adaptology range.
Miron glass is very dark purple and this means that it blocks all visible light, except UVA and Infrared, from entering the bottle and affecting the natural product inside.
In nature, sunlight is essential to enable plants to grow, however it also plays a role in accelerating the molecular decaying process once a plant has reached maturity.
The same acceleration decay applies to natural skincare products that aren’t protected by Miron glass.
Miron protecting the microbiome
A microbiological experiment was carried out with cherry tomatoes.
During this test, a cherry tomato was stored for 7 months in a white glass and in a Miron violet glass, and then kept at room temperature where sunlight could reach it.
The result was photographed after 7 months.
The microbiological changes of the tomato stored in white glass can be clearly seen. The tomato stored in Miron violet glass however shows no loss of colour and no signs of drying out.
This is the level of protection Miron glass provides to the active adaptogen and extremogen ingredients in your skincare products.
the history of Miron glass
Violet glass was first used by the ancient Egyptians as they battled to preserve their natural produce against the sun’s powerful rays and ensure freshness.
Over time the secrets of this natural preservative were lost and forgotten until the 20th century when pharmacists began to store their remedies in hand made, violet glass bottles.
Today, Miron glass forms a crucial part of Adaptology’s supportive skincare system, providing the protection your products need to supply a skin solution and help build better skin resilience.
recycling our miron bottles
Our Miron bottles are 100% recyclable.
However, you are also able to repurpose them to store other natural products you may have at home once they have been thoroughly cleaned.
Please note that at present our labels are not recyclable, so please peel them off and dispose of them before placing your Miron bottle in the recycling bin.
